In order to generate power FutureWind
sites turbines on sites appropriate |
FutureWind Limited deploys wind turbines for the generation of electricity from wind energy. Both 250 kW and 300 kW units are used, deployed singularly or in pairs so as to minimise the potential for being obtrusive. Power generated is sold to an electricity trading company that in turn sells the power to a local consumer or into the electricity trading pool. In particular power may be sold to the host of the turbine as part of the land leasing arrangement for the turbine itself. Power that is sold at less than £6 per MWh offers energy that is less expensive than fossil fuel and this means energy is available at substantially discounted rates. It is the Renewable Obligation Certificates, (ROCs) that make energy production a viable commercial activity. In order to generate power FutureWind sites turbines on sites appropriate to the host and offers a rent to the landlord in return for hosting the turbine. In addition the rent is proposed to be paid in kind, through the supply of subsidised electricity. As the power is provided at a substantially discounted rate not only does the landlord benefit from inexpensive electricity but the cost of electrical energy is set to be lower than the equivalent cost of fossil fuels such as natural gas or diesel. This makes the use of electricity for things such as heating commercially attractive. Click here for
