Generating power from renewable resources such as wind, hydro or biomass attracts Renewable Energy Certificates, ROCs.

Fossil fuelled power generators are now obliged to demonstrate they have bought suficient green energy to meet the target set. This obligation is met by producing a minimum number of green certificates, currently equivalent to three per cent of their energy output, or face a fine.

Whilst small green generators are unable to generate sufficient megawatt hours of energy to be able to sell their ROCs through NFPA, Future Energy Limited can corale these ROCs and auction them through the Non-Fossil Purchasing Agency Ltd.
