Is wind energy expensive?

Wind energy has become the least expensive renewable energy technology in existence. Turbines now cost approximately £600 per kilowatt. The value of generated electricity is approximately £15 per MWh. Taking into account the availability of the turbine the turbine cost is paid for in between 15 and 18 months, excluding the cost of capital and finance interest.
